Zumba ® (Wednesday 7-8pm and Thursday 8-9pm)

Zumba classes at Danceworks are the fun way to fitness! Pulsing latin rhythms, thumping hip hop beats and high energy club vibes combine to create an exhilarating dance-aerobic session that offers both cardio endurance with a serious calorie burn.

The perfect introduction to street dance. This is a general hip hop class with routines designed to teach the basics of hip hop style and attitude with additional challenges added for the more experienced members of class.

Intermediate Street/Hip Hop  (Thursday 7-8pm)

For the more experienced hip hop or street jazz dancer looking for a fresh, challenging class.  The style here is mainly American hip hop, but we also feature genre styles such as Dancehall, House and Lyrical Hip Hop.  This class relishes performance and often gets the opportunity to do so on stage and at festivals locally.

Lyrical Street Jazz (starts 6th November 2014)

Our Lyrical Street Jazz class uses elements of both Jazz and Contemporary dance to create a fluid and expressive street based dance style.  Set typically to RnB or slow Hip Hop music, this is a floor work orientated class, which requires dancers to move from standing to floor at pace.  This is an ideal class for the experienced dancer in any genre.

Intermediate/advanced ballet (Friday 6.45-7.45pm)

Prior experience of classical ballet is required for this class as it moves at a fast pace, but ensures that technique and strength are carefully developed.
