Congratulations to all our students who took part in this lovely festival we have been attending over the years. The photographs you have sent us for this festival have been wonderful and colourful. With a mixture of seasoned festival performers well versed in competitions and students new to festivals who were a little nervous, it was a fun few days and you all looked wonderful. Well done all!

Grace and her little baby Nellie are both doing really well and enjoying their special time together. Grace will be returning with her dancing shoes back to the studio very soon!
If you would like a DVD of our recent stage show then please let our reception know so that we can place a final order for DVDs. Thank you to all parents who sent us some lovely emails about the show, we really appreciate your kind words.
We are waiting for our July exam results but as soon as we have them we will let you know.
What a fun week we all had, and such a lot of work learnt. The students enjoyed learning different dance styles from ballroom to Irish dancing, with line dancing, and a drum workshop alongside all our regular teachers. A varied week and it was lovely to see all the students working together.
All classes are on the same day and time as previously, unless you have received a timetable change letter by email.

We have been asked quite a few times to hold a workshop on ‘how to pirouette in ballet’, so for the first time we are holding this workshop alongside a contemporary dance session on the morning of Sunday 9th November (date to be confirmed). The workshop will focus on the basics of turns, technique, how to turn both in ballet and contemporary, and the various types of turns that are part of dance. This workshop is open to all students age 7-18.
We have had to increase our term fees slightly for classes as we haven’t increased our fees in 2 years; the increase is under 5%.
Private lessons (and festival lessons) will remain the same costs as last year. Please give us 24 hours’ notice if you cannot make a private lesson, otherwise the lesson will still be charged. More than 24 hours’ notice we will always reschedule the lesson.
Adult classes remain the same cost as last year.
We have invested money into the studio this last year, particularly the building. We had to replace studio 1 floor last year as it desperately needed replacing, the floor was starting to fall apart and we just couldn’t gain another year out of it.
In recent months we have spent money on a much-needed air conditioning and heating system for studio 1, which has been invaluable in the hot months; this means that all our 3 large studios have air conditioning as well as heating.
We are in the process of giving the front of the building a facelift, which is why the scaffolding is in place at the moment!
And if we can stretch to it financially, we are hoping to put up a new Danceworks sign on the front of the building – the sign you see on the front of the building now, is our original sign from a small building we originally started in many years ago in 1999 ! So, it will be a bit of a treat to have a new sign.
Please ensure your child is dressed correctly for their class, with hair securely tied up in the correct hairstyle.
You can find details of correct uniforms on our website under the Children/Teens menu.
Universal Uniform on the Kingsditch Trading Estate supply all Danceworks merchandise (hoodies, leggings, joggers etc). Any items ordered online can be picked up from Universal Uniform, or from the studio. Order here. We also have a selection of dancewear including leotards and tights in our reception.
